Last tile

Week 5 – finishing tile, electrical trim, stair inspection

April 13 – 17

Week 5 quick look

Monday: A quiet day – just the tile setter starting on the floor tile so that the glass company could come and template the frosted glass wall/door in the afternoon.

Tuesday: Small amount of framing to stairs so inspection can be done. More floor and wall tile

Wednesday: Stair inspection (OK to cover) then adding drywall to close out the drafts. Floor joists are still open, so I stuffed ripped up carpet pad into the holes and topped with a beach mat! Working on the intricate cuts to get the slope for the linear drain.

Thursday: Tile floor is getting much closer to finished! Electrical trim (minus the outdoor light for the wet area which is backordered for a week or so). The shelves above the tub are complete. No site meeting this week (Greg is moving house) but I had a phone conversation with Westhill about budget and we’re apparently (so far) about on budget, the beam who-ha notwithstanding!

Friday: Working to finish the setting of tiles. There was a fair bit of “chat” directed at the tiles today working on the area around the linear drain – I think that and some music keep you sane while you work these details out!

Saturday: Tile is finished and grouted! It looks amazing. Ready for the plumber to come on Monday. There will be some finishing bits of grout to be done after that, but the tile cutting machine and all the tools are packed up and moved out. Ryan’s wife and son came to see the job and help pack up everything at the end of the day.
